Preserving the bounty of summer: Canning, Pickling and Sauerkraut!
Preserving food from the garden is fun, rewarding, and an amazing way to feed yourself year round! In this action packed class you will learn how to safely water bath can the bounty of the summer garden, can pickles, and make home made sauerkraut! We will discuss the benefits of eating lacto-fermented foods, and you will head home with a jar of each of your preserved foods. This hands on class will give you all the knowledge needed to begin a life of food preservation in your own kitchen. class.
This is a hands on class! Please bring an apron and comfortable shoes (no sandals please) as well as a lunch for yourself. We will provide coffee, tea, and a homemade, organic, gluten free, gigantic cookie!
Class runs from 10 am to 2 pm
