Learn how to make your own cheese! This hands-on class will teach you how to make feta and chevre (soft cheese) from raw goat milk. Not only will you learn the basics of cheese making, where to purchase cheese making supplies, but you will go home with cheese samples and recipes for using the soft cheese!
This class is taught by the wonderful Connie King who lives with her husband on a farm between Stevenson and Carson, WA. Connie has many years of experience raising sheep and goats, and now has a small herd of Oberhasli goats. The milk for this class will be from her lovely goats (in fact, we started our herd with babies born from her goats!)
Class runs from 3 pm to 5 pm

All classes are held at Colibri Gardens and taught by Lara Scanlon unless otherwise noted. Lara started working on commercial organic farms in 1995, eventually owning and running her own oxen powered organic vegetable farm until 2005. She and her husband Derek ran a small CSA in California, and after moving to Ashland, Oregon, Lara started her own edible landscaping business. She has taught farming and gardening in several high schools, extension schools, and at her own farms in Wisconsin and California, and now here in Southern Washington!
